Switching from bottle back to breast has never been easier. Calma was developed using evidence-based research on babies' natural feeding behavior so you can enjoy your breastfeeding bond longer. With Calma, the milk will only flow if your baby works and creates vacuum to remove the milk. This enables the feeding behavior learned at the breast to be used with Calma.

*includes 1 x Calma nipple

Features & Benefits

  • Vented nipple: Helps avoid gassiness as the bottle is vented through our unique air-control system
  • Mimics natural feeding behavior: Supports easy transition from bottle to breast. Research has shown that with Calma, your baby is able to maintain the learned feeding behavior that your baby exhibits when breastfeeding
  • Flow control valve: Allows baby to control milk flow. Milk only flows when baby creates a vacuum
  • Calma doesn't drip: You can turn Calma upside down and it still won't drip. Your baby needs to apply a certain level of vacuum in order to get milk out
  • One size/shape nipple: For all stages of breastmilk feeding. The flow, shape and length of Calma are designed to suit your baby's needs as your baby grows
  • Made without BPA: All parts that come into contact with breastmilk are not made with BPA

Compatible with all Medela breastmilk bottles

Breastfeeding must be well established before introducing Calma

Not our favourite
We really didn't like these nipples. They were really tough for our little guy to use, and he could hardly get any milk to come out of them. They come in multiple pieces, which my husband and I thought was excessive for a bottle nipple. We definitely prefer other brands over this one.

too hard for baby :(
My son just chomped on this nipped and couldn't figure out how to get the milk out - clearly it was too difficult for him to use. Plus, they are very expensive and just seems pretty unnecessary.

Worked okay
I love that they really have to try to suck the milk out so it doesn’t just fall into their mouth but it was tough for my son to use at first

Leaks a lot
I did really like the shape of these and think they attributed to us not having nipple confusion while I was still breastfeeding and bottle feeding, but these nipples seemed to leak a lot, which drove me insane. I'll give them another try though with baby #2

Good for newborn days
This nipple worked for my son on the newborn days, but not anymore. It does mimic the work needed for breastfeeding, I found he had to work harder to get milk out of this nipple vs actual breastfeeding. There are a lot of parts to wash which makes it really cumbersome.
